Poems written specifically for the Heritage Grist Mill Association

                                              A Poem

In a little country town on the bank of the stream
Stands the Harison Morley Grist Mill, once a dream.
Realizing it a mile stone in naming this old town
And all the grain over the years this mill ground.
This water-powered grist mill when in full repair
Will be a museum with years ago memories to share.
With historical values in mind and the help of the Lord
This village of Morley grist mill will be restored.

The Rise of the Old Mill

Remember the mill from days of old.
How sweet the memories of times that are told.

The big waterwheel turning, so vivid in the mind.
Giving power to machines for the flour to grind.

Wheel and gears whirring, sweet smells in the air.
All being tended with the greatest of care.

Now the mill's long at rest and those who pass by
Hear only the wind, with it's moaning sad sigh.

Though it stands silent in lonely disrepair,
Hope is new coming, there's plan for repair.

With a nice new wheel and machinery it shall live once more,
Reviving old memories from the days of yore.

Now those who stop by will smile and say,
The old mill's again running. We like it that way.
